Whose to say that's really a bad thing?
Today I published -well republished- my story "Seryn's Tail" and all I want to do is throw my front door open and carol to the world: It's Done! It's Out! It's out it's out it's out!
But it's not really in my personality to draw attention to myself. Nearly all my report cards had (in one form or another) "needs to put the book down." "Is quiet and doesn't participate in class"-Wait, that last might have been on Brian's report cards more than mine, but I'm sure it showed up once or twice.
It's taken me a long time to realize that if I open my mouth, people are not going to automatically put me down. My self esteem can now take the burden. It's more important to me to reach for my dreams and acheive my goals.
I'm sure there are those out there that still want to toot their own horns, but for various reasons can't make themselves do it.
So for all those who sit back and wait and hope for others to crow their achievements to the stars, this one's for you:
IT'S OUT!!!!!
If I've learned one thing in this very long journey I call following my dream, it's that you can't market yourself without beeping a few horns.
Anyone else want to beep? Go for it!
Again....
It's Out!!!!!
Happy Reading
